Well I keep forgetting to do these blog posts, so I will slowly churn these out. In this blog I really want to focus on the Obama administration not allowing Plan B, or the morning after pill, to be available without a prescription. With my liberal view point, I was quite disappointed. I know the conservative in the class will take this as a victory.
The main reason this disappoints me is the reason why Obama did this. In 2009, he pledged to have everything his administration do be backed by sound science. In this situation, he blatantly ignored the sound science. The statement that was issued said that adolescent females weren't as knowledgeable about the pill and how to use it. This is shown to be wrong in many studies done in the last few years. Also, if they can't make a decision about a pill, how will they be good parents?
Another complaint I have with this is Obama and his administration made this decision to try and seem more conservative to get reelected. This fills me with great disappointment. I felt Obama wasn't that sort of politician. But, this decision shows he is. He just wants to save his ass. If he cares more about keeping his job than the welfare of the country, I hope he isn't reelected.
Obviously, I am upset with the decision. Feel free to continue this discussion in the comments. I can't wait for big smokes reply.

As the Greek economy is falling, the people get angry. The beautiful country of Greece is at a standstill. Angry protesters are converging in war against their police force. The entire country is shutdown and on strike. There are no flights in or out. Public transport has been shut down. And the worst part of all of this is the Greek government is deadlocked. Nothing can get done and the budget is left unbalanced. This only angers the protesters more.

Today, war was raged against the police. Bombs were thrown, stores were rampaged and people were trampled. The only thing that can calm the crowds is to fix this meltdown. But, that is easier said than done. The European Union has issued an ultimatum to the Greek parliament. Get it fixed or go under. If they do go under, that will send shockwaves all the way through the world economy, especially the fragile American economy.

There have been a couple bailout plans offered to the Greeks from the European Union. So far, there have been no takers on the offers. The Greek people want more. They have recently intensified their rioting when it was announced taxes will be raised and benefits will be cut.

I understand the anger of the Greeks, but this is not the way to do it. Trying to kill police just because they are doing their job is firmly crossing the line. The only way for the Greeks to save their country is to sit down civilly and express their views and wants. No one listens to shouting. It just makes your reaction more radical. I wouldn't be surprised if a radical move came from the Greek government.

If you guys didn't know, there has been a sit in protest on wall street this past week. The protesters have been asking for financial reform and for wall street to take some blame for the financial crisis. This protest has been completely peaceful and no violent threats have been issued. But, the NYPD felt the need to try and break up this protest.

Feel free to visithttp://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/09/28/police-department-to-examine-pepper-spray-incident/ to view more on the incidents. There has been multiple reports of different uses of police brutality and 1st amendment right infringement. The main focus of the article is a pepper spray incident. The police showed their force by abusing women and attacking men with pepper spray. But, surprisingly, their hasn't been much uproar over the issue.

The main press on this is mainly coming from liberal news outlets. In fact, on ABC News, they censored out the police macing a defenseless women. This should not be allowed in a '"free" country. The American people shouldn't stand for this. We should take back this nation. We cannot be back down, we need to stand up to authority like the Libyians and the Egyptians. Authority and power only exists if you let it exist.

All in all, there needs to be a stop in this Constitutional infringement. If you want to end this travesty, you can sign this petition. http://www.addictinginfo.org/2011/09/26/sign-petition-to-stop-obscene-nypd-brutality-stand-with-occupywallst-protestors/ Thank you for your time.
